Sangkuriang

once upon a time, in west java there live a beautiful girl named Dayang Sumbi. One day, the prince wanted to marry Dayang Sumbi so he asked a permission to his father, The King. But, the king told the prince if he had a child he will transform into a dog because people from Kahyangan could not live by side with humans. Then the prince accepted the condition.

They get married and they had a child named Sangkuriang. Because, they had a child so the prince transform into a dog named Tumang. Sangkuriang always brought Tumang when he hunted animals and looked for fruits for a meal. One day, Sangkuriang saw a pig and want to killed it. But Tumang stop Sangkuriang because the pig is her grandmother. Sangkuriang was angry and killed Tumang and he brought Tumang's Meat and gave it to his Mother.

Then, when he told his mother that it was Tumang's Meat, his mother was angry and say that Tumang is his father. She grabbed a weaving tool and hit Sangkuriang's head with it. Sangkuriang had a scar on his head and he decided to go away and went on a journey.

And time passed by, Sangkuriang on his journey stoped at a village. He fell in love with the beautiful girl and want to marry her. But he didn't know that the village is his homeland and the girl was her mother, Dayang Sumbi. When Sangkuriang asked her to marry him, she agreed to marry him but he should built a large boat with a lake before morning. Sangkuriang accepted the condition.

After the sun went down, Sangkuriang went to the hill and started to built a large boat with a lake. Then, he called a group of genie to build a dam around Citarum River. The he commands the genies to built a boat. A few moments before dawn, Sangkuriang and his genie servants almost finished the boat and the lake

But, Dayang Sumbi knew that Sangkuriang was almost finished so she took hay and she burn it. Then the chicken woke up and said "cook-a-doodle-doo" The genie ran out because they feared sun. Sangkuriang was furios and he kicked the boat and then the boat flew and landed on a valley. The boat became a mountain that called Mountain Tangkuban Perahu
